There are some couples that just radiate joy—and Christian and Payton are definitely one of them. From the first moment I met them, I knew this shoot was going to be something special. I had the privilege of capturing their engagement session and later their beautiful wedding, and let me tell you… being a part of their journey was nothing short of magical.
We met at Lake Lowell in Nampa for their engagement photos, and wow—what a perfect setting. The sun was golden, the trees were lush, and the calm water created the dreamiest reflections. But honestly, what made this shoot shine was them. Christian and Payton brought such a playful, affectionate energy—it was impossible not to smile behind the lens.
They danced together in pockets of greenery, laughing like no one was watching. Payton wore the most gorgeous black dress with an open back—elegant, and so effortlessly stylish. Christian kept it cozy and classic in a textured grey sweater, the perfect contrast to her look.
Their chemistry? Totally natural. Whether they were wrapped up in each other under the trees or holding hands out on the dock, they made everything feel beautifully intimate and real.
Some of my favorite moments were the ones where they just existed together—quiet glances, spontaneous hugs, and that lift on the dock that felt like something straight out of a movie. They were completely themselves, and that kind of authenticity is what I live for as a photographer.
Watching their love story unfold from engagement to wedding day was such an honor. It's these kinds of connections that remind me why I love what I do—capturing not just photos, but moments that feel true to the people in them.
